Couple Park Wi·Song Ji-eun, who were criticized for losing their channel's character because of the paid membership controversy, reveal the daily life of their 18-month marriage in full.
On the Dec. 12 broadcast of SBS' Dong-Sang-i-Mong 2 — You Are My Destiny, the grants of the 18-month married couple Park Wi·Song Ji-eun were previewed.
In the trailer shown at the end of the broadcast, Park Wi and Song Ji-eun revealed their newlywed life. Park Wi said, "Viewers might find it too cringe, but she looks like an angel bathed in spring sunlight," introducing Song Ji-eun and creating a sweet atmosphere.
What drew particular attention was Park Wi's clarification. Park Wi said it was a "first reveal" and "I do not receive assistance with bowel movements." Song Ji-eun said, "Was it under the wedding video? Who wrote that I was hired as a free caregiver. They called me that," revealing the malicious comments attached to their marriage. Park Wi said, "I think this needs to be clarified," and Song Ji-eun also said, "It might be necessary to do it at least once," showing tears.
The Park Wi·Song Ji-eun couple's appearance on the program is notable because it is their first since the recent paid membership controversy. Given that the two had no significant broadcast appearances until now, attention is focused on the fact that they will appear after the controversy and reveal their daily life.
Their paid membership controversy broke out last month. Song Ji-eun and Park Wi introduced a paid membership costing 2,990 won per month through a video on their YouTube channel titled "Please become part of We-Ra-cle's family," saying, "We opened the membership because we wanted to communicate more closely with subscribers. Having decided this after sufficient internal discussion, it will be a new channel for exchange," They said the membership would provide honest videos showing daily life and the couple's private moments not shown in existing vlogs, and real-time communication through live broadcasts.
But some subscribers reacted, saying, "A paid membership for communication?", "I will unsubscribe," "It seems the channel's essence that worked to improve disability awareness is gone," and "Everyone wants revenue, but it's still disappointing," and Park Wi and Song Ji-eun responded, "We appreciate the sincere words you conveyed with concern. We will take them to heart and try to reflect them in channel operations."
Park Wi and Song Ji-eun, who left regrets after being criticized for losing their channel's character by opening a paid membership, intend to reveal their newlywed life and clarify misunderstandings by appearing on Dong-Sang-i-Mong 2. Their disclosure of newlywed life will be shown on the Dec. 19 broadcast of SBS' Dong-Sang-i-Mong 2 — You Are My Destiny.
