The group BABYMONSTER is on the verge of becoming a million-seller.
YG Entertainment said on the 13th, "BABYMONSTER's third mini album "춤(CHOOM)" has recorded about 750,000 copies in sales (based on the label's own tally the previous day)." This is an achievement recorded about a week after its release.
With this, BABYMONSTER is signaling a million-seller achievement. Because they showed a sharp rise on domestic and international charts immediately after their comeback, a meaningful result is expected.
According to YG, BABYMONSTER is recording album demand that exceeds expectations in major music markets worldwide, including North America, Japan and China. Their popularity and influence are evident to be extending beyond Korea into global markets.
Their rising momentum is also proven. Earlier, they recorded first-week sales of 552,837 copies with their second mini album "We go up (WE GO UP)". The cumulative sales over one month were about 650,000 copies. In comparison, the third mini album "춤" set a record surpassing that in about eight days after release, showing a steep growth trend.
Riding that momentum, BABYMONSTER will begin their second world tour starting in Seoul in June.
