Comedian Lee Kyung-kyu directly confessed in the past to having undergone a heart stent procedure, and he recently confronted circulating health concern rumors head-on on live broadcast, proving he remains in good condition.
In recently released content on the YouTube channel "갓경규," Jung Ji-ung, the son of actor Jung Eun-pyo who had appeared on the past SBS entertainment program "붕어빵," appeared. Jung Ji-ung, currently enrolled at Seoul National University, spoke about pursuing his dream of music, and Lee Kyung-kyu offered his characteristically realistic and sincere advice. Lee Kyung-kyu confessed, "When I was recording '붕어빵' at its height, my heart became blocked," and added, "I went to the hospital right after the recording and had a stent procedure." He recalled that he did not hand off the recording to someone else but finished everything and then went to the hospital, staying at the site until the end.

Earlier, some netizens, citing slightly slurred speech and a tired appearance in YouTube videos, worried about the possibility of a brain disorder or cerebral hemorrhage. The agency drew a line by saying it was "a temporary drop in condition due to lack of sleep."
And Lee Kyung-kyu went onstage live and effectively dismissed the health concern rumors. On the Dec. 12 broadcast of KBS1 "2026 FIFA North and Central America World Cup D-30: For victory!," Lee Kyung-kyu appeared as the main MC alongside announcers Eom Ji-in and Nam Hyun-jong.
He, who had been a symbolic presence of World Cup cheering culture through the past "Lee Kyung-kyu goes," also showed his characteristic high-energy hosting that day. Lee Kyung-kyu, with clear pronunciation and steady hosting, said, "I will go to Guadalajara, Mexico, to report the local atmosphere vividly," revealing his passion for the World Cup.
