Veteran actress Nam Neung-mi confessed her affection for her husband despite suffering a scam loss in the 8 billion won range.
Kim Young-ok posted a video titled "Wannabe country life: Nam Neung-mi house tour" on her personal YouTube channel on the 13th. The released video showed Kim Young-ok visiting the villa of her 50-year close friend Nam Neung-mi.
Nam Neung-mi was enjoying country life on a 150-pyeong plot in a scenic mountain village somewhere in Gapyeong County, Gyeonggi Province. When the gate opened, a fairy-tale-like wooden house greeted Kim Young-ok and the production team in a yard where gravel, stone, and wood were laid like stepping stones. At the top of the octagonal house, three sides were made of windows, creating a dining area where the rural atmosphere could be enjoyed at a glance, adding to its charm.
Born in 1946, Nam Neung-mi boasted energy that made her age hard to believe even at 80. It was fitting of Kim Young-ok, her 50-year close friend, who remained spry at 88. Her husband also still boasted his health, carrying a lunchbox and tending the vegetable garden.
However, Nam Neung-mi had hardships before enjoying country life in Gapyeong. Kim Young-ok mentioned Nam Neung-mi's husband's scam victimization, saying, "I'm sorry to keep bringing this up, but when he was making good money, 5 billion won," to which Nam Neung-mi added shockingly, "It's 8 billion won," revealing a larger scam amount.
But Nam Neung-mi firmly said, "He was scammed by a con artist. Because the scam was so big, for a while even the children hated their father. But I called the children and told them, 'Dad is more important than you,'" which made the moment more touching.
Kim Young-ok also chimed in, "Character saves a person; from long ago your husband cared for you that much." Nam Neung-mi agreed, "Even now, if I'm cold and shivering, he's the one who wraps a blanket around me."
