The group 82MAJOR (82MAJOR, Nam Seong-mo·Park Seok-jun·Yoon Ye-chan·Jo Seong-il·Hwang Seong-bin·Kim Do-gyun) is showing rapid growth as it fully enters the K-pop mainstream Orbit.
82MAJOR solidified their presence most vividly since debut with mini album 5, FEELM (FEELM).
FEELM recorded first-week sales of 120,238 copies, entering the 120,000 range for the first time since debut and breaking the record set by the previous work, Trophy (Trophy).
The title track Sign (Sign) reached No. 1 on iTunes Spain's top 100 song downloads and No. 1 on Vietnam's top albums chart, and ranked high on charts across Asia including China's NetEase Music; recently it won the overseas group with potential of the year award at China's Weibo International Entertainment Awards, proving the strength of their solid overseas fandom.
Additionally, the fact that all members participated across production—writing lyrics, composing and arranging—adds musical authenticity.
Sign is a song that blends restrained beats and a dreamy melody, featuring a catchy "tiki-taki-tak" hook and the members' more mature vocals and raps.
They digested diverse genres in 82MAJOR's own colors, from W.T.F, which mixes jazz and intense beats, and CAGE, a baile funk genre song, to CIRCLES with its heavy bass and YESSIR!, a modern reinterpretation of retro dance.
Immediately after their comeback they have been active across major music shows, earning praise for both visuals and skills. Choreography that highlights tempo control, such as the wristwatch dance and time-lag dance showcased on the Sign stage, completed 82MAJOR's signature sensual charisma.
The music video surpassed 6 million views within a week of its release, and in particular the performance version staged underwater drew online attention by showing unshaken skill even in extreme conditions.<
