IU, who has been dating her partner Lee Jong-suk for four years, expressed her convictions about love.
On the 12th, a video titled "Tears over this week's final episode news..'Perfect Crown' behind the scenes" was uploaded to the "Now IU" channel.
In the drama, IU, who plays chaebol and military wife Seong Hee-ju, filmed a scene in which her arranged marriage was exposed to the whole world and she begged her father for help. Hee-ju, crying buckets, fell to her knees on the floor and pleaded, "I can solve this myself. So please," begging them to save the beloved Ian dae-gun instead of herself.
The production team said, "Hee-ju has thrown away her pride," and IU said, "I threw away my pride in front of love. I hope Wan-yi (played by Byeon Woo-seok) will recognize this kind of love.." then added, "Seeing that you want the other person to acknowledge it, it seems you still don't love enough. Love is not about wanting recognition," revealing her convictions about love.
Asked, "Is this IU's philosophy or Hee-ju's philosophy?" she replied, "It's IU's philosophy. Maybe Hee-ju has never been in love, so she probably doesn't have a philosophy like that," and explained, "Because Hee-ju has a complicated and subtle relationship with her father, kneeling to her father would have been much harder and more humiliating than kneeling before the nation like a public apology. Earlier, IU also mentioned her views on love while conversing with the cast of "Perfect Crown" on the "Now IU—mini palette" released last month.

Meanwhile, IU and Lee Jong-suk were long-time friends who began dating publicly after acknowledging their relationship for the first time in December 2022. Since then, the two have nurtured their relationship, sometimes referring to each other indirectly at official events, and reports of boyfriend Lee Jong-suk attending IU's concert in person have become a topic of conversation.
