Putting aside for a moment the deep rift of marital conflict known as "marriage hell," the tear-inducing "Oh Eun-young report — Love again" is coming.
In celebration of Family Month, the emotion of "Human Documentary, Love," which moved the entire nation to tears, continues through "Oh Eun-young report."
MBC's "Oh Eun-young report" meets viewers with a special story for Family Month. The two-part special "Oh Eun-young report — Love again," airing at 9 p.m. on May 18 and 25, is a project ambitiously prepared by MBC's current affairs and education bureau, which produced the earlier "Human Documentary, Love," reviving that program's original intent as the 2026 edition of the "Love" series.
This special asks "what is true love" through the lives of people who endure each day under the name of "family" even in the face of illness, accidents and unexpected tragedy.
First, in part 1, airing at 9 p.m. on the 18th (Monday), the story of a terminally ill wife diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer is revealed. The story became newsworthy when the husband, for his game-loving wife, recruited "users willing to be killed by his wife" through an online community. Many users volunteered for this event, praying for the wife's recovery, and took turns willingly being "killed," creating touching scenes that spread by word of mouth. What happened to this couple afterward? A love story comparable to "You are my destiny," a representative episode of "Human Documentary, Love," comes to viewers.
Then, in part 2, airing on the 25th, the story of a husband who lost both legs and his left arm in a dump truck accident and was losing the will to live makes hearts ache. But that husband has a wife who, with unwavering love, gives him courage saying, "Thank you for staying alive." Added to this is the pure heart of their 7-year-old twin daughters waiting for their father, promising deep emotion and resonance.
In particular, a previously released trailer captured Dr. Oh Eun-young unable to hold back tears and breaking down, attracting attention. During the recording, Dr. Oh Eun-young reportedly could not speak for a while, saying, "I shouldn't be like this.. I should be counseling.." The story that made Dr. Oh break down to the extent that it nearly halted counseling for the first time in the history of "Oh Eun-young report" has drawn attention.
Confidence is evident in the production team's declaration for "Oh Eun-young report — Love again." The producers said, "If the original 'Human Documentary, Love' stayed at showing the protagonists' stories, this 'Love again' series will, through meetings between Dr. Oh Eun-young and the subjects, retrace pain and wounds together and present ways to overcome psychological and practical difficulties," adding, "The story of couples who do not let go of each other's hands even in moments of despair will deliver deep emotion."
So far, "Oh Eun-young report" has received attention for its "marriage hell" segment. It is a real talk-umentary program that observes the daily lives of couples who have grown worse than strangers and has them appear directly on the studio to share their marital conflicts. Couples with unimaginable stories appeared, spoke frankly with Dr. Oh Eun-young and worked to find and resolve the root causes of their conflicts.
But this time, the moving and sincere "Human Documentary, Love" is reborn as "Oh Eun-young report — Love again." Audiences are looking forward to how deeply moving the stories of a terminally ill wife diagnosed with advanced stomach cancer, a father who lost his arms and legs, and his 7-year-old twin daughters will be.
