In episode 4, Woo-gi (Kim Sung-Cheol) killed Cheoljung (played by Junjin Oh) without hesitation at Hee-ju's cold command "kill," shocking home audiences. Hee-ju, awakened to desire, was enough to trigger excessive immersion among viewers.
In episode 5, which will be released tomorrow (the 13th), Hee-ju's full-fledged moves to secure the gold bullion begin. But standing in her way is a new figure: Do-kyung's (played by Lee Hyun-wook) ex-girlfriend "Cha Yoo-jin" (played by Lee Sul). Yoo-jin notices that the item in the coffin is gold bullion and secretly approaches Hee-ju, foreshadowing a suffocating psychological battle.
The most striking stills show the direct confrontation between Hee-ju and Yoo-jin. Yoo-jin reveals her hidden greed, grabs Hee-ju by the hair and pressures her with a piercing stare.
In particular, in the scene where Hee-ju's neck is bent as Yoo-jin grabs her hair, Park Boyoung reportedly delivered a fearless performance, even showing realistic neck vein acting. The transformation in which she erased her "ppobblee" image and perfectly embodied a character consumed by desire drew praise from the on-site crew, raising expectations.
The production team hinted, "In episode 5, the threats against Hee-ju will become more relentless and intense," and asked viewers to watch Hee-ju's changes as she makes bolder choices the more cornered she becomes and the clashes between characters.
"Gold Land" is a golden desire survival thriller in which Hee-ju, who obtained 150 billion won in gold bullion from a smuggling organization, fights for survival in an Asura: The City of Madness of greed and betrayal.
