KBS's flagship entertainment program '2 Days & 1 Night season 4' has become unable to avoid large-scale changes.
KBS2 '2 Days & 1 Night season 4' (hereafter 2 Days & 1 Night) announced disappointing news: the departure of the youngest member Yoon Seon-ho, who had been active for three years and six months.
On the 12th, the "2 Days & 1 Night" side said, "Member Yoon Seon-ho, who spent a long time of three and a half years with us, is graduating from '2 Days & 1 Night,'" and "Yoon Seon-ho will deliver his final farewell directly to viewers through the broadcast on the 31st," it said.
Yoon Seon-ho, who joined in December 2022, was noted as the first member born in the 2000s in the history of '2 Days & 1 Night.' He was loved for his distinctive energetic drive, frank charm and fresh sense of variety show entertainment. In particular, he provided cheerful laughter with Moon Seyoon as the "glutton brothers" and DinDin as the "weakest duo," and his innocent, youngest-member-like purity and unpredictable charm created new fun each episode, so his departure is simply regrettable.
With Yoon Seon-ho's departure, '2 Days & 1 Night' would become a four-member system, but it is still operating as a five-member system for now. That is because member Cho Sae-ho voluntarily left after being embroiled in allegations that he received an expensive gift and promoted a franchise run by a member of an organized crime group, and drank with a key figure of the largest violent organization in Geochang County, South Gyeongsang Province. Cho Sae-ho said, "I want to say that the allegations raised are not true at all. I will take this incident as an opportunity for deep reflection and strive to greet you again in a more mature form."
'2 Days & 1 Night' did not fill Cho Sae-ho's empty seat and operated with five members, and some guests appeared to fill that spot. With the youngest member Yoon Seon-ho also leaving, making it a four-member system, whether voluntarily or not, the show is in a situation where it cannot help but reorganize.
Despite several crises such as member departures and production staff changes, '2 Days & 1 Night,' which had demonstrated resilience and not lost its place as KBS's flagship entertainment program, is drawing attention to how it will overcome this current crisis.
