In episode 2 of the baseball variety show 'Fireworks Baseball 2,' released on the official Studio C1 YouTube channel on the 11th, the show's own blue-versus-white scrimmage, the final gateway to joining the Fireworks Fighters, took place.
Of the 207 total applicants, 44 players who passed the document screening and individual tests gathered on the field and began full-fledged survival competition.
Manager Kim Seong-geun formed the teams into a Veteran-centered blue team and a prospects-focused white team. The starting pitcher for the blue team was Song Seung-jun, the oldest among the pitcher applicants, and the starting pitcher for the white team was left-handed fireballer Kim Gi-min from Cheongun University.
In the scrimmage, the blue team caught up by one run in the bottom of the eighth but failed to score additional runs in the bottom of the ninth, suffering a disappointing 6-3 loss. The game, which showcased the Veterans' savvy and the prospects' fighting spirit, raised curiosity about the final roster for the 2026 Fireworks Fighters.
Episode 2 of 'Fireworks Baseball 2' surpassed 100,000 concurrent viewers just 14 minutes after its initial release. Peak concurrent viewers reached as many as 200,000.
Next week, the long-awaited final roster of the Fireworks Fighters will finally be revealed. Viewers' attention is focused on which players will rise to the place of honor after the seemingly endless tests.
