The group LE SSERAFIM reinterprets the story of Frankenstein and presents it as their second full-length album.
Since debut, LE SSERAFIM has consistently reinterpreted classic narratives, and that trajectory is reflected in the full-length album ''PUREFLOW' pt.1' to be released on the 22nd. Earlier, LE SSERAFIM composed the story of women who challenge taboos with 'Eve, Psyche and Bluebeard's wife' as a coming-of-age narrative moving into a new world, and with 'The Great Mermaid,' which sang the fairy tale 'The Little Mermaid' from their own perspective, they delivered a bold message to change the world rather than conforming to the world's standards.
They have also conveyed the team's message by modernly varying various works such as 'Sour Grapes,' inspired by Aesop's fable 'The Fox and the Sour Grapes,' and 'Good Bones,' which began with a poem by American poet Maggie Smith.
The classic narrative LE SSERAFIM chose this time is Frankenstein. Through the first visual concept, which combined a dark and dreamy background with stitched marks and wound makeup to create a unique atmosphere, LE SSERAFIM revealed that hint in the lead single 'CELEBRATION' music video released on the 24th of last month. The music video featured the five members chasing after the creature who claims to be a loner in order to reach out to him. In the end, the members' sincerity reached the creature, and a festival unfolded in which LE SSERAFIM and beings with various appearances came together.
In this way, LE SSERAFIM did not follow the original story exactly but varied it. While the monster in the original longs to be connected to someone but is rejected by the world and meets a lonely end, they say it met members who could be relied on and gained the strength to face fear. In fact, the strong teamwork built from spending a lot of time together adds credibility to the content.
Once again reinterpreting a classic narrative in their own language and conveying their own message, LE SSERAFIM raises anticipation for the fun of finding creature elements in ''PUREFLOW' pt.1'.
