Hollywood star Hayden Panettiere (36) cried as she confessed to the horrific trauma she experienced at the young age of 18.
On the 11th (local time), according to a report by Daily Mail, Hayden Panettiere, who earned great love for the drama "Heroes," recently appeared on Jay Shetty's "On Purpose" podcast and revealed shocking anecdotes contained in her memoir This Is Me: A Reckoning.
Hayden Panettiere recalled the betrayal that forced her, then 18, into a sexual situation. She said, "On the boat, a friend I believed to be a 'guardian' took me to a small room, and there was a famous man lying naked on the bed," delivering a shocking revelation.
She continued, "At the time I thought I was very mature, but in fact I did not have the ability to fully understand what was happening around me," and added, "The man acted as if this was a normal occurrence." Fortunately, Panettiere's "lion-like instinct" immediately woke up, she ran out of the room and hid her body, but she cried as she recalled the fear of no one helping her in the isolated space on the boat.
This revelation attracted more attention because it came shortly after Panettiere recently came out as bisexual. She told Us Weekly in a recent interview, "Because of the pressure to be perfect, I only shared this at 36," and frankly confessed, "I have been more attracted to women than men for a long time, but I hid it because I was afraid it would look like following a trend."
Panettiere's life was not smooth. She had an 11-year-old daughter with her former fiancé and boxer Vladimir Klitschko, with whom she had an on-and-off relationship for nine years, but she suffered the pain of losing custody due to postpartum depression and substance abuse. Later, she went through painful times after getting involved in eight domestic violence incidents with Brian Hickerson, whom she later met.
Having come through a dark tunnel, she said, "During the two years I wrote the memoir, I decided to be completely honest about my sexual identity and past pains."
Panettiere will begin a book tour starting in New York, U.S., on the 19th and plans to communicate directly with fans as an author.
