The early-year comedy hotly anticipated Wild Sing is raising expectations with its main poster and trailer.
The comedy film Wild Sing (director Son Jae-gon, distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by About Film), which will bring cool laughs to theaters this summer, released a main poster and main trailer filled with cheerful energy.
Wild Sing, which has stirred discussion with every piece of content released and risen as this summer's most anticipated film, drew attention by releasing its main poster and main trailer.
First, the main poster wittily captures five people facing a stalled car smoking under a sunny sky. From Hyun Woo (Gang Dong-won), Sang-gu (Um Tae-goo) and Do-mi (Park Ji-hyun), members of the desperate hitchhiking trio "Triangle," to Seong-gon (Oh Jung-se), who subtly strikes his signature "love you" pose from his heyday, and Yong-gu (Shin Ha Kyun), the former agency head of Triangle with an aloof expression. Their starkly contrasting appearances suggest the process of getting on stage will by no means be smooth. In particular, the copy Today we are getting on stage no matter what hints at their desperate, cheerful struggle to seize a last chance and piques curiosity.
The released trailer briskly depicts the dazzling heyday and disbandment of Triangle, the legendary mixed dance trio produced by Yong-gu Records.
As time passed and he despaired over being forgotten by the public, Hyun Woo sets out to find the scattered members when a chance to return to the stage appears, only to be met with cold indifference. After many twists and turns the reunited Triangle, joined by perennial No. 2 ballad prince Seong-gon, faces an arduous journey to the venue. Nonstop sudden incidents, including a tense chase with a police car, produce unpredictable fun and laughter. At the end of the trailer, Hyun Woo stares into the camera and solemnly says, "See you soon," increasing anticipation over whether they will be able to stand on stage safely.
A production briefing marking the start of the film recently took place, and the lead actors drew attention by citing the film's solid script as their reason for appearing.
Gang Dong-won said choosing the comedy genre was because comedy has always been my favorite. The script was so funny. It was a really full comedy, and what I liked most was the tightly closed ending. It wasn't an open ending; I really liked the ending. The process of running toward the ending and the stories of the four were so fun. So I wanted to try it.
Um Tae-goo said the script was so funny and that when he met with the director, the director was also very likable. He said that when he learned that Gang Dong-won would play the role of Hyun Woo at the meeting, that was the biggest reason for his choice. Park Ji-hyun said she had been a fan of director Son Jae-gon since she first read the script. I really enjoyed The Villain on the Second Floor, she said. When I read the script, I had a strong desire to portray the duality in Do-mi's character. And I thought finally I might find a work that would quench my thirst for comedy. When the script came to me, the two senior actors were already cast. Reading the script while empathizing made it very fun. I couldn't even imagine senior Gang Dong-won dancing or senior Um Tae-goo rapping, she said with a smile.
Wild Sing, which opens on the 3rd of next month, is a comedy about a once chart-topping mixed dance trio, Triangle, that disbanded overnight after an unexpected incident and now makes a reckless attempt to seize a comeback opportunity that arrives 20 years later.
