Actor Kim Hyang-gi said Cha Hak-yeon's BL acting was the most impressive.
On the morning of the 11th, an interview with actor Kim Hyang-gi from the Coupang Play series 'Absolute Value of Romance' was held at a café in Samcheong-dong, Jongno district, Seoul.
Absolute Value of Romance is a high-teen comedy series about a high school girl who wrote romance novels featuring handsome male teachers as protagonists, who in reality encounters them at unexpected moments and becomes the protagonist of a tumultuous school life, and it is released every Friday at 8 p.m.
In the drama, Kim Hyang-gi plays Ye Ui-ju, an eccentric girl who, upon seeing the four handsome teachers who have just moved in, unconsciously projects the narrative of an obsessive stalker onto them. Kim Hyang-gi neutralizes Ye Ui-ju's delusional scenes, which could have felt excessive, with her characteristically clear, innocent visuals and deftly playful acting, convincing viewers.
Asked which teacher's performance in the BL scenes had been the most impressive, Kim Hyang-gi mentioned Cha Hak-yeon, saying, Everyone did so well. Ye Ui-ju writes the novel based only on the teachers' outward appearance as their muse, so everything is Ye Ui-ju's imagination, but still the math teacher brought out the funniest moments the most.
Kim Hyang-gi said, While filming, his hand movements were so funny that he used them so well. I thought he knew how to hit those points, and I remember enjoying watching it.
When asked which teacher she would have liked most if Kim Hyang-gi had actually been Ye Ui-ju, she elicited laughter by saying, I don't think I would have liked the math teacher very easily. She added, I don't think I would have easily liked the math teacher, and as for the other teachers… it's hard to choose just one.
