Singer Lee Seung-Chul emphasized the importance and responsibility of the masters who guide the muses' direction on The Scout: reborn stars.
ENA's new entertainment program The Scout: reborn stars (hereafter The Scout) unveiled itself. The Scout, which premiered on the 8th, is a growth-oriented music project in which top experts in the music industry directly discover "raw gems" who have not yet fully showcased their talents and present new directions and possibilities to them.
The Scout, which highlights the process of participants who once challenged their dreams or honed their skills in their respective places returning to the stage, promises a depth of harmony that sets it apart from existing auditions as different genres and experiences blend. Another point is that it is a growth-oriented music project in which top experts in the music industry find raw gems who have not been able to demonstrate their talents, propose new directions, and complete their transformation into global stars through a professional and systematic multi-care system.
Beyond simple skill competition, the nurturing format in which mentors directly discover and develop participants' potential, the narratives created as mentors established in their fields participate and work closely with participants, and the structure that focuses on the magnitude of change and potential rather than initial ability diverge from previous audition programs and present a new paradigm.
Led by Lee Seung-Chul, the lineup of masters that includes Kim Jaejoong, Red Velvet's Wendy, DAY6's Young K, and Choo Sung Hoon is another viewing highlight of The Scout. While on a typical audition program they might be 'judges,' on The Scout they act as 'masters,' each guiding the direction of four muses and doing their utmost to help them become shining "stars."
Lee Seung-Chul's first principle in recruiting them was nothing other than "respect." "They had to be role models the participants could respect to their core. I'm really grateful that excellent juniors who have proven overwhelming careers and achievements even at a young age readily accepted the offer. (Kim) Jaejoong is almost from the first generation of idols and has experience producing idols, so his producer mindset is very strong. Young K, as a band member, shows the JYP style and treats participants very lovingly and positively. Wendy manages the children's mental states in a detailed, calm way like an older sister."
The most eye-catching figure among the master lineup is Choo Sung Hoon. Having appeared as a 'top-back-ghost judge' on The Ballad of Us, Choo Sung Hoon serves as the physical and mental coach on The Scout. "People ask why Choo Sung Hoon, and I hold his fashion sense in very high regard," he praised. "Physical conditioning is basic, and his knack for catching stage physicality, the fit of clothes, and styling is tremendous. He also speaks very well, so he will be a rediscovery at the judging."
The Scout is not only about participants' competition but also a contest among masters competing so that the muses whose direction they set can take first place. Expectations are high that it will be a healthy competition for the sake of the muses and the masters themselves. "Since I was in charge of planning and production and have judged for a long time, I let the juniors choose the muses first. That left the muses who ended up with me. At first they thought that coming to me meant marine corps hell training and were scared. But I meticulously overhauled their vocalization from the basics, so now I pride myself on saying our 'Neverending' team's cohesion is the strongest."
