On 'Salimnam 2' singer Kim Jaejoong empathized with Takuya's worries and brought up his own story.
On the Sept. 9 broadcast of the KBS 2TV variety show 'Salimnam 2,' Kim Jaejoong appeared as a friend of the Japanese man Takuya and came to his aid. Kim Jaejoong said, "The first time I saw Takuya was when I was next to the table of the Japanese entertainer active in Korea," saying it was not a brief acquaintance. Actor Lee Yo-won said in wonder, "There must be something that connects good-looking people."
Kim Jaejoong said, "Takuya seemed like a guy who had everything. While watching 'Salimnam 2' I wanted to nag. It was so frustrating," explaining his reason for appearing. Having achieved great success but having moved to the city at 16 and struggled doing part-time jobs as a trainee, Kim Jaejoong said there was a lot he could relate to.
Kim Jaejoong rummaged through Takuya's home, saying, "What is that luxury brand accessory storage box? Is that a luxury clothing box?" Takuya said, "When I receive gifts I can't throw them away. There are socks inside the box." In addition, empty whiskey bottles and a computer left on all day were things that bothered Kim Jaejoong.
Kim Jaejoong asked Takuya about his monthly rent. Takuya, who lives in Gangnam, said, "It's similar to the neighborhood market price." Kim Jaejoong said, "If Gangnam is roughly 1,000,000 won, then how much is that per year? If you've lived there three years, it's 36,000,000 won," and added, "You should move to Namyangju. There you can live in a place twice as big as here." Takuya refused, saying, "That's the nature of our jobs, and there are shops in Gangnam, aren't there?" Kim Jaejoong criticized him, saying, "He's the same Japanese, but even that Japanese from Gangnam doesn't live in Gangnam. he lives in Gyeongbuk. He saved up and bought a building. You're just showing off."
Not being casual acquaintances, they soon put their heads together over Takuya's worries. Recently Takuya even searched for and met his biological father, whose whereabouts had been unknown for a long time.
Kim Jaejoong said, "When I was in the military, my biological father reportedly requested a visit. I refused the visit. He also sent letters, but I did not keep them," and praised Takuya, saying, "I don't have as much courage or the generous disposition to forgive as Takuya does. Being able to forgive someone in life is truly a huge thing. Takuya is remarkable." He was adopted at age 3 and grew up loved by his parents in a household with eight older sisters.
However, Kim Jaejoong asked, "Do your mother and stepfather know that you met your biological father?" Takuya's stepfather, overflowing with love for his stepson to the point of tears when it comes to Takuya, did not know this fact. Kim Jaejoong said, "Don't do that. I worry about my family, and the family worries about us," and added, "In the past I secretly met my birth mother behind their backs and the family was completely turned upside down. The family were all shocked." He urged Takuya earnestly, saying, "If you are honest with your family as much as you showed courage, peace will come sooner. Have courage with your stepfather, too."
