That day Seo Dong-ju said, "Nothing else, I'm going to Gyeongju. Isn't there a Korean medicine clinic in Gyeongju? A famous one. I finally get to go there. So many people told me to definitely try going there, but even if we wanted to go, we couldn't. It's really hard to get a reservation, isn't it? We hadn't been able to go until now, and we finally made it. I'm going to Gyeongju with my husband, and on the way we're picking up two close younger friends to travel together, and also to have a date with my husband, to visit the Korean medicine clinic in Gyeongju, and to take the dogs out, so we decided to all go together," she explained.
Afterward, Seo Dong-ju headed to Gyeongju with her husband, acquaintances and their dogs. She said, "I saw that place on a broadcast before, and director Jang Hang-jun and writer Kim Eun-hee also visited and there's a legend that they became pregnant. They said it's over 130 years old. They say most people became pregnant there. In the comments on our YouTube, people said to get medicine from there and try it. It must really work, so that's why it's famous. I wanted to go too, but reservations were so hard to get that now we barely managed to secure one and are going," she said.
She continued, "This is my first time taking herbal medicine. I hardly ever rested and kept trying, getting injections and such, so I was worried the medicines would mix. But now I'm in the recovery period after a minor surgery, so I should take it quickly. Even if I wanted to take it before, I tended to overdo medicines and taking too much can be problematic. Later, Seo Dong-ju and her husband arrived at the clinic and received a consultation. After the consultation, Seo Dong-ju marveled, "In conclusion, my stamina is just too good. My stamina is so good and my personality is positive, so I don't realize I'm tired and I tend to work too much. Because of that, I think I've been overworking my body all this time. Not sleeping. She said, "Because of that, I've been overworking my body, working only, being highly competitive and achievement-oriented, and compared to others in terms of stamina I'm in the top three out of ten people. Since I don't get tired, I kept working and ended up in this situation. Apart from the pregnancy issue, I'm actually very healthy and apparently healthy enough to live to 100 without strain. And surprisingly I'm not sensitive, I don't get stressed and I'm not prone to depression, so I've been able to stay healthy. My husband, on the contrary, is unexpectedly sensitive, vulnerable to stress and struggles. He's more talkative, nags, and his expressions show everything, so he's the complete opposite of me. The conclusion was to just be indifferent, not get stressed and sleep a lot. They told me to please sleep. But these days I sleep well," she confessed.
Her husband mentioned Seo Dong-ju's insomnia, saying, "But it's been only a short time since you've been sleeping a lot," and Seo Dong-ju replied, "I had severe insomnia, and because my stamina was so good I felt fine even without sleep, so even in elementary school I didn't sleep much, actually. I studied until dawn. I stayed awake for 24 hours. When I first dated my husband, I wondered, 'When does Dong-ju sleep?' After meeting my husband I felt secure and began to sleep a little, and after we moved into the house we live in now my sleep increased dramatically. Now I snore when I sleep, but before that I slept four or five hours a day and was constantly awake. I was crazy," she said, adding, "I feel relieved after seeing them."
Back home, Seo Dong-ju turned the camera on again and said, "This trip was really hard and took a long time. But above all I felt proud. Looking at both changing hospitals and going to the Korean medicine clinic this time, regardless of the outcome we don't know what will happen, but I feel like we're doing our best as human beings. We made reservations at that famous clinic and moved to a good hospital, so if it still doesn't work out, that will be my fate and I think I could accept it. So I actually returned feeling unburdened and at ease. I feel like I did everything I could," she said, expressing relief.
She said, "From now on while I'm taking the medicine and in the future living my life, I learned a lot about how I should eat, how to exercise and take care of my body. I guess I've been living carelessly until now. For you it hasn't been long, but I had a life before that. Thinking back, I really didn't sleep. I worked a lot. I wasn't healthy. I overexerted my body. So from now on I'll do my best to love my body and give it what it wants and try to live that way," she said.
She added, "My husband is the same. Because I confirmed again today that my husband is a sensitive person, I'll be more affectionate and speak softly to help him not get stressed, and since he knows these tendencies of mine he understands, and we'll try to live healthily together. Then there may be a good result, and even if the good result I imagine doesn't happen, a very healthy body will remain. I'll do it for a healthy body. In any case he's a healthy person, so just that makes me very happy and grateful," she said, conveying a positive outlook.
Meanwhile, Seo Dong-ju married Ji Young-seok, an entertainment industry worker four years younger than her, in June last year. Afterward she underwent in vitro fertilization for infertility; although her first embryo transfer succeeded, she was diagnosed with a missed abortion, drawing sympathy. Nevertheless, Seo Dong-ju has not given up and continues steady efforts for a second child.
