'My Royal Nemesis' Lim Ji-yeon was enraged by distorted history.
Episode 1 of SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama My Royal Nemesis, which premiered on the 8th, depicted Joseon villain Kang Dan-sim (Lim Ji-yeon) realizing that she was alive.
That day, Kang Dan-sim, who thought she had died after drinking poison, opened her eyes in the modern era 300 years later. After appearing at a drama filming site and seeing her face through a camera, she was so confused that she even ran into the road. Furthermore, after violently fighting with Cha Segye (Heo Nam-jun) in broad daylight, Kang Dan-sim, having been handed a business card, wandered aimlessly and headed to a museum.
There, she saw that a painting she had created was being explained as one painted by queen 온정왕후 and became enraged. She was even shocked to see that the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty recorded that she had taken poison, been stripped of her title, and been falsely portrayed as a villain.
Later, thinking it was hell as she walked along the road, Kang Dan-sim was caught in a sun shower and, feeling the cold, murmured, "I'm alive. I survived."
Kang Dan-sim thought, "I don't care if it's a reward or punishment. What does it matter? Compared with dying, I'm unbearably happy to be alive like this. Yes, let's think of it not as a curse but as being reborn. Not punishment but a second chance. Even if it's shabby, I survived, so this life I can regard as a reward if I want."
Above all, Kang Dan-sim decided, "There is only one way for me to survive here," and resolved to find the refined Cha Segye. She vowed, "From today on, I'll use you as my spear and shield," drawing attention.
