Top model and broadcaster Han Hye-jin and AKMU Lee Suhyun confessed to amusing "gaslighting" from fans regarding their weight, drawing smiles from the public. Rather than imposing strict standards on a star's appearance, fans' "affectionate support" that loves them as they are has become a cute complaint that it actually hinders dieting.
Model Han Hye-jin, who recently announced she surpassed 60kg, described subscribers' enthusiastic reactions as "comment lighting."
In a video posted on Han Hye-jin's YouTube channel on the 7th, she opened her mouth saying, "Did you see the comments our subscribers left after I said I gained weight?" When the production team asked, "Do you mean the comments saying you're pretty?", Han Hye-jin replied cheerfully, "It's gaslighting. Comment lighting."
Han Hye-jin revealed mixed feelings, saying, "So I gained weight and my current look isn't good, but (the subscribers) keep trying to fatten me up," expressing a conflicted sentiment between being pleased and her professional duties. At that, Han Hye-jin's mother, who was nearby, firmly delivered a "fact bomb," saying, "Don't be fooled by that. AKMU's Lee Suhyun also attracted attention by claiming that she cannot lose weight because of fans' boundless affection, the so-called "cute lighting."
In a video from several years ago, Lee Suhyun, with a serious expression, declared, "They keep saying I'm cute and lovable, so I can't lose weight," and said, "They did "cute lighting" to me," exploding with her characteristic charming appeal.
Fans have actually supported Soohyun's health and happiness as the top priority with comments like "You don't have to lose weight" and "You're most beautiful now." That support became a great comfort to Lee Suhyun, because earlier she had confessed to having bulimia and said, "Even when I wasn't hungry, if I was stressed I had the habit of eating no matter what," which drew sympathy.
