Singer Yu Seung-jun choked up while reading fans' comments.
On the 9th, Yu Seung-jun posted a video on his channel titled "From now on I will speak for myself! For those who remember me… Yu Seung-jun Q&A begins."
In the video, Yu Seung-jun read several fans' comments himself. He added, "Unfortunately, there are still many who misunderstand. But all of you are precious to me. In any case, I appreciate that you are interested in me and take the time to write comments. Indifference is the scariest thing. Please leave many critical comments as well. I think it would be good to have a long live session next time and exchange opinions. I hope it becomes an opportunity to visit and meet you at a time convenient for you," showing his gratitude.
Responding to a comment that read, "Please come back. Come back, legend," Yu Seung-jun replied honestly, "I'm not a legend," and "I do miss the old days."
Reading a comment that said, "If only you had gone to the military. If you had simply said from the start that your family was in the U.S. and you took citizenship and couldn't go, everyone loved you so much back then they would have let it pass.. It's just a shame and heartbreaking," he wore a mixed expression, and at a comment that said, "I was one of the people who harshly cursed you before. But as I got older, I regret it and feel sorry. You must have had it so hard you couldn't even express it in words, I'm sorry," he could not hold back tears.
He then apologized, "I am sorry. You don't need to apologize to me. I'm sorry for leaving such memories for you. If given the chance, I'll give you only good memories." He also choked up at a comment that said, "'Yeonga' is my favorite song, hyung. I really want to see you in Korea." Yu Seung-jun said, "I'm so grateful that I had a positive influence on someone."
The video also highlighted his affection for his family, especially his wife. Yu Seung-jun has been married to his first love and they have lived together for 34 years. He confessed that family was his greatest strength, saying, "I talk about trivial things with my wife and we adjust and communicate about many things. That's when I feel most like myself," and, "I was loud outside, but our home felt like heaven. The inside of the home was always bright, so when I came home everything was resolved and it was beautiful." A caption reading, "Actually Yoon Seon-ah, it was all because of you. Thank you and I love you since meeting you," offered a glimpse of his devoted love for his wife.
Earlier, Yu Seung-jun had announced he would start full communication by holding a Q&A for the first time in 24 years.
Meanwhile, Yu Seung-jun debuted in 1997 and was loved for numerous hit songs such as "Scissors," "Passion," and "Nana," but ahead of his military enlistment in 2002 he acquired U.S. citizenship and was banned from entering the country amid controversy over evading military service. He applied for an overseas Korean resident visa (F-4) but it was not accepted, and although he won an administrative lawsuit afterward, the visa issuance continues to be denied.
