Actor Lee E-dam continues her unstoppable march, securing her first leading role following a Baeksang Arts Awards nomination.
On the 9th, OSEN reported that Lee E-dam has been cast as the lead in the new Disney+ series Code: Faust Game (hereafter "Code"). The work is a mystery about a materialistic lawyer, Yoon Tae-ju, who encounters a mysterious app called "Code" that grants wishes and the events that unfold when he uses it.
In the drama Lee E-dam will play a prosecutor and form on-screen chemistry with Nam Joo-hyuk as they lead the story. As this is her first time securing a lead title since her debut, industry attention is focused on the sharp acting transformation she will show.
"Code" is based on the popular Taiwanese drama Code Busadeg Yuki. The original was released as seasons in 2016 and 2019 and gained great popularity, and it was also remade in Japan as a drama starring Sakaguchi Kentaro, which attracted attention.
In particular, the Korean version raises expectations with director Yoo Soo-min, recognized for his directing on the "Weak Hero" series, taking the helm. Attention is focused on what kind of synergy Yoo Soo-min's stylish direction and Lee E-dam's fresh energy will produce.
Lee E-dam proved a strong presence as an actor among formidable seniors by being nominated for supporting actress at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards on the 8th for the Netflix series "Lady Dua."
Her steadily built filmography with dramas such as "Artificial City," "Black Knight," "Daily Dose of Sunshine," and "The Queen Who Crowns" has made her work this year particularly dazzling. From the Netflix series "Can This Love Be Interpreted?" to "Lady Dua," and the film "Pavane," she has shown a wide acting spectrum, appearing in major anticipated projects across television and film.
With her distinctive color and solid acting foundation, attention is on what kind of performance Lee E-dam will deliver in her first lead work, "Code."
