The lead lineup for Love WiFi-gung, a time- and space-transcending romance between a webtoon writer and a royal court maid, has been revealed.
The KITS premium series Love WiFi-gung (written by Kim Nam-hee, directed by Sa Seok-chun), scheduled for release in the second half of this year, is a time- and space-transcending communicative romance about a webtoon writer desperate for a hit and a court maid who wants to become a concubine, unfolding through a mysterious mother-of-pearl farming tool that connects the past and present.
Love WiFi-gung, originally a webtoon of the same name serialized in 2023 by authors Joa and Gin-yu, is planned as a film, short-form drama and mid-form drama, drawing attention as a novel attempt to deliver the same content in various formats, and has revealed a lead lineup of Younghoon, Lee Ruda and Kim Dong-jun.
Younghoon plays the webtoon writer Taepung, whose livelihood has become bleak; Lee Ruda portrays Sohyang, a palace maid of low birth; and Kim Dong-jun plays the cold-hearted king I-hwi, forming a love triangle with Younghoon and Lee Ruda.
A representative said the tangled relationships among the three characters create an immersive work, and amid their conflicting emotional lines, expectations are growing about what kind of narrative their choices will ultimately lead to.
