Comedian Maeng Seung-ji was photographed with her foot on a table while watching a baseball game, but it was confirmed to be a video created by AI.
On the 8th Maeng Seung-ji posted a video of herself watching a baseball game on her social media saying "Just trend!"
In the video, Maeng Seung-ji is watching the game between the LG Twins and the Lotte Giants with the caption "watching baseball live." The game has reached the eighth inning, and with LG leading Lotte 8-2, Maeng Seung-ji, wearing a Lotte Giants uniform as if she is a Lotte Giants fan, is cheering enthusiastically. As the score gap widened she appears to shout as if furious, and was also seen with her leg on the table and an irritated expression.
The video, which looked like it was captured on a broadcast screen, was produced by AI. When many fans were confused whether it was real or AI, Maeng Seung-ji answered "Yes!" to a video asking "Was this made with artificial intelligence?" This kind of video has been spreading like a recent trend, but because it is not labeled as AI-produced it is increasing confusion.
Meanwhile, Korea has been enforcing the "AI basic law," which requires watermarking of generative AI outputs, since Jan. 1.
