Actor Lee Chae-min won the Baeksang Arts Awards' male newcomer acting award in the television category for Bon Appétit, Your Majesty.
On the 8th, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci was held at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, hosted by Shin Dong-yeob, Suzy and Park Bo Gum.
Established in 1965 to promote the development of popular culture and the arts in Korea and to boost artists' morale, the Baeksang Arts Awards marked its 62nd year this year. In particular, this year, as it is the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater, a musical category was newly established, bringing together broadcasting, film and theater to unite all areas of popular culture and the arts, break down genre boundaries and become a festival encompassing all fields of K-content.
The male newcomer acting award in the television category was announced for Lee Chae-min, who appeared in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty. Lee Chae-min, who was hastily cast after Park Sunghoon's withdrawal, even received the honor of winning.
After receiving the trophy, Lee Chae-min said, "It's an honor just to be invited to a major awards ceremony, and receiving such a big award feels like a dream," and said, "Director Jang Tae-yoo, who believed in and entrusted me when I was truly lacking and nothing, is a benefactor and like a father. And thanks to senior Yoona, who is indispensable, respected and loved, Iheon could be born. Senior Yoona had a large share in the part where I was loved, and I really didn't do anything. The director filmed well and senior Yoona raised me up well."
Lee Chae-min added, "I am truly honored," and said, "It's Parents' Day, and I couldn't visit my parents and came here, so I am grateful to receive this award."
