"The Wonder Coach" season 2 will be released this year.
On the 8th at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci was held, hosted by Shin Dong-yeob, Suzy and Park Bo Gum.
The Baeksang Arts Awards, established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists, marked its 62nd year this year. In particular, as this year marks the 60th anniversary of Korean musicals, a musical institutional sector was newly established, bringing together all areas of popular culture and the arts alongside broadcasting·film·theater, breaking down genre boundaries and becoming a festival that encompasses all fields of K-content.
Producer Kwon Rak-hee won the entertainment program award in the broadcasting sector for "The Wonder Coach" and said, "I am happy just to see director Park Chan-wook's back of the head, and I can't believe I'm receiving an award. Director Kim Yeon-kyung sometimes feels like an elder brother and sometimes like a 7-year-old rascal, and I am very fortunate to have been with performers of such diverse facets."
He added, "I am grateful to those in the volleyball community; in particular, I thank the coaches of the corporate teams who work hard in difficult conditions. I am greatly thankful to the writers and producers who became a strong front. When the program began, many people said it wouldn't work, yet here I stand. More than proving they were wrong, what makes me happy are the real-time comments. Reading comments from elderly viewers or viewers who are battling illness gave me a ray of strength. I hope that by seeing someone like me they will muster strength one more time and that this will be a time to prove those people wrong."
Producer Kwon said, "We will return this year with season 2. Please look forward to how hard Kim Yeon-kyung will work and how well she will do."
