Choi Kang-rok chef made a surprise appearance at the Baeksang Arts Awards celebration performance.
On the 8th, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci was held at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, hosted by Shin Dong-yeob, Suzy and Park Bo Gum.
The Baeksang Arts Awards, established in 1965 to promote the development of Korea's popular culture and arts and to boost artists' morale, marked its 62nd edition this year. In particular, this year, as it is the 60th anniversary of Korean musicals, a musical institutional sector was newly created, bringing together all areas of popular culture and arts alongside broadcasting, film and theater, breaking down boundaries between genres and reborn as a festival that encompasses all fields of K-content.
Ahead of the start of the second part, an interview with Shin Dong-yeob unfolded. Shin Dong-yeob asked the cast of No Other Choice, Son Ye-jin, Lee Byung-hun and director Park Chan-wook, "Show the reaction when you expected to win but someone else is called," and they drew laughter with their different reactions.
When asked to pick his "one pick" between director Jang Hang-jun and Yoo Hai Jin, Park Jihoon said, "It sounds like asking whether you prefer mom or dad, but I would pick senior Yoo Hai Jin," explaining, "Although the director trusted and liked me, I have many memories of sharing energy with the senior on set."
Director Jang Hang-jun caused laughter by making a verbal slip, saying, "I want to receive the director's award, no, the work award that everyone is happy about." Jang Hang-jun said, "The last big award I received was the perfect attendance award in sixth grade, so I want to receive a big award. The actors are in good spirits and condition, so we expect good results."
Yoo Hai Jin said, "I thought director Jang Hang-jun would say, 'I personally want to receive the director's award,' so it was unexpected. I also hope to receive the work award."
