The group Cortis solidified its status as a breakout act by selling more than 2 million copies of its new mini album within four days of release.
On the 8th, according to Hanteo Chart, a site that tallies album sales, Cortis's second mini album "GREENGREEN" had sold a total of 2,027,032 copies as of the 7th, four days after its release. This figure instantly surpassed the results of their previous release at an overwhelming pace. While the mini 1st album released in September last year took three months to surpass cumulative sales of 1 million and six months to reach 2 million, the new release became a million-seller in just one day and achieved double-million seller status in four days. The initial-week sales (sales during the first week after release) are also expected to jump to at least about five times the previous release's 436,367 copies.
The explosive growth is also reflected in domestic music chart performance. The pre-release title track from the second mini album, "REDRED," climbed to 3 on Melon's Top 100 chart as of 9 a.m. on the 8th, matching its own best peak and firmly taking hold near the top. On the daily charts for the 6th, it ranked 9 on Melon, 3 on Bugs and 12 on Vibe, showing a steady upward curve, and on Mnet's M Countdown broadcast on the 7th it claimed the No. 1 trophy for the second week in a row, proving its hot buzz.
Its momentum on global charts is also fierce. On the world's largest music streaming platform, Spotify, the group became the first K-pop boy group that debuted within the past five years to enter the Daily Top Songs Global chart, and it has held its ranking for two weeks. "REDRED" landed at 56 on that chart for the 6th and appeared on the Daily Top Songs charts of 24 countries and regions. On Spotify Korea it has remained at No. 1 for nine consecutive days. On the Apple Music "Today's Top 100: Global" chart as of the 7th it was 19, marking 11 consecutive days on that chart, and on the "Today's Top 100: Korea" chart it has held the top spot for 12 days while all tracks from the album have remained on the chart for three consecutive days.
Factors behind the unstoppable rise of "REDRED" include a fresh musical texture, clever point choreography such as the "flutter-ear" dance, and high-quality performances honed by solid live skills. Riding its overwhelming momentum, Cortis will present the title track stage on KBS2's Music Bank today (the 8th), perform both "REDRED" and the album track "TNT" on MBC's Show! Music Core on the 9th and on SBS's Inkigayo on the 10th. They will also appear at KCON JAPAN 2026 on the 10th, and are scheduled to continue their vigorous activities by joining the college festival lineups at Dankook University Jukjeon Campus on the 13th and Hongik University Seoul Campus on the 14th.
