The Baeksang Arts Awards, established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost artists' morale, marked its 62nd year this year. In particular, this year, as it is the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater, the institutional sector for musical theater was newly established to bring together all areas of popular culture and arts alongside broadcasting·film·theater, breaking down genre boundaries and becoming a festival that encompasses all fields of K-content.
MC Shin Dong-yeob said he seemed to be drawing energy from the winners and asked Park Bo Gum and Suzy what award they would like to receive. In response, Park Bo Gum mentioned his next project and expressed the aspiration, "I want to leave a deep afterimage." Suzy then mentioned her upcoming project "Portraits of Delusion," saying, "I want to receive the enchantment award," which drew attention.
Shin Dong-yeob said he would like to try a heavily romantic melodrama on SNL Korea and picked Lee Suji and Kim Won-hoon as the leads. At that moment, Lee Suji, caught on camera, smiled brightly, and Kim Won-hoon looked bewildered, prompting laughter.
