The expression on Kim Won-hoon's face hardened at webtoon artist and broadcaster Kian84's variety show award win.
On the 8th at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci was held, hosted by Shin Dong-yeob, Suzy and Park Bo Gum.
The Baeksang Arts Awards, established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost artists' morale, marked its 62nd year this year. In particular, this year, marking the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater, the musical institutional sector was newly created, bringing together broadcasting, film and theater and uniting all areas of popular culture and arts into one, breaking down boundaries between genres and becoming a festival encompassing all fields of K-content.
In the broadcasting category, the male variety show award, for which strong contenders such as Choo Sung Hoon, Lee Seo-jin, Kim Won-hoon, Kian84 and Kwak Beom competed, was won by Kian84. Kim Won-hoon, who was nervous and secretly hoping to win, shook hands with Kian84 with a stiff expression, drawing laughter.
Kian84 said, "I started appearing on broadcasts by chance, but I met good production staff and came this far," and added, "Every time I come it's always amazing; thank you for giving me such a big award. I thank the I Live Alone family, Adventure by Accident, Kianjang, and the Geukhan84 family."
