Actor Bang Hyo-rin won the best new actress award for "Aema" and expressed gratitude to Lee Ha-nee and Jin Sun-kyu.
On the 8th, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci was held at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, hosted by Shin Dong-yeob, Suzy and Park Bo Gum.
Established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists, the Baeksang Arts Awards marked its 62nd year this year. In particular, this year, as it is the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater, a musical category was newly created, bringing together broadcasting, film and theater and gathering all areas of popular culture and arts into one, breaking down boundaries between genres and becoming a festival encompassing all fields of K-content.
The winner of the best new actress in the broadcasting category was Bang Hyo-rin of "Aema." Bang Hyo-rin won the honor over Choi Ji-soo ("Undercover Miss Hong"), Jeon Soyoung ("Honor: Their Court"), Shin Si A ("Resident Playbook"), Kim Min ("Pine: Country Bumpkins") and others.
Bang Hyo-rin said, "The work 'Aema' really felt like a gift to me. As a new actress, I was able to play the role of a new actress, so I performed with all my heart. Thank you for believing in me, someone insignificant and nothing, and for using me until the end; because you believed in me, I was able to do it until the end."
She added, "Through senior Lee Ha-nee I was able to learn what it means to be an excellent actor. Thanks to senior Jin Sun-kyu, who was with me, I was able to enjoy acting."
