The World of Love director Yoon Ga-eun won the Baeksang Arts Awards director prize.
On the 8th at COEX D Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci was held, hosted by Shin Dong-yeob, Suzy and Park Bo Gum.
The Baeksang Arts Awards, established in 1965 to promote the development of Korea's popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists, marked its 62nd year this year. In particular, since this year is the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater, the institutional sector for musicals was newly established to bring together all areas of popular culture and arts along with broadcasting·film·theater, breaking down boundaries between genres and becoming a festival encompassing all fields of K-content.
The film category director prize, for which Jang Hang-jun (The King's Warden), Yoon Ga-eun (The World of Love), Byeon Seong-hyun (Good News), Park Chan-wook (No Other Choice), and Kim Do-young (Once We Were Us) were nominated, is
Director Yoon Ga-eun said, "I am very grateful. It is an honor just to stand alongside directors I respect and like, so this is overwhelming and my heart is heavy."
Director Yoon said, "A film is not made by a director alone. I once mistakenly thought it was alone, but it was not. I am grateful to the people who led and pushed me from the start to the finish of the film."
