Actor Shin Sae-kyeong won the Baeksang Arts Awards' best supporting actress in film.
On the 8th, the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci was held at COEX Hall D in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, hosted by Shin Dong-yeob, Suzy and Park Bo Gum.
The Baeksang Arts Awards, established in 1965 by the founder of the Korea Daily, Chang Ki-young, to promote the development of Korea's popular culture and arts and to boost artists' morale, marked its 62nd year this year. In particular, this year, as it is the 60th anniversary of Korean musical theater, a musical institutional sector was newly established to bring together all areas of popular culture and arts alongside broadcasting, film and theater, breaking down genre boundaries and becoming a festival that embraces all fields of K-content.
Among the nominees for best supporting actress in the film category were Jeon Mi-do (The King's Warden), Jang Hye-Jin (The World of Love), Yeom Hye-ran (No Other Choice), Shin Hyun-been (Face), and Shin Sae-kyeong (Humint), and Shin Sae-kyeong took the honor of winning. At Shin Sae-kyeong's win, Park Jeongmin gave a thumbs-up to share in the joy.
Shin Sae-kyeong said, "I came without any thought that I would win, so my mind is blank. I am grateful to everyone who was involved in the making of the film," and added, "I am grateful to my family, friends, company colleagues and coworkers who helped me grow healthily while doing this work for a not-short time. I met many of the colleagues from the company I used to be with, and I want to express my thanks to them as well."
She continued, "Although I am an actor with a slow tempo, I am always thankful to the fans who support me. I want to say that I have grown well and am living well, and I ask for your continued support going forward."
