On the 7th, the agency SM Entertainment said in a notice, "Shotaro recently suffered an ankle injury during a performance at an overseas schedule."
SM said, "After undergoing detailed tests at a hospital, he was diagnosed with a torn ankle ligament, and is currently wearing a half cast and receiving outpatient treatment periodically while recovering."
It added, "As a result, Shotaro will participate in the scheduled events (May 8 University of Incheon festival, May 10 Japan K-Style party, May 14 Sogang University and Soongsil University festivals) and appear on stage, but it has been decided that he will not perform choreography."
SM added, "Daily activities are possible, but following medical advice to refrain from intense dancing and to rest, this decision was made after discussion with Shotaro. We ask for fans' kind understanding, and the company will do its best to support the artist's swift recovery."
