On the 7th, the agency SM Entertainment said in a notice, "Shotaro recently suffered an ankle injury during a performance at an overseas schedule."
SM said, "After a detailed examination at the hospital, he was diagnosed with a torn ankle ligament, and he is currently wearing a half cast and receiving periodic outpatient treatment while recovering."
It added, "As a result, Shotaro will participate in the scheduled events (May 8 University of Incheon festival, May 10 Japan K-Style Party, May 14 Sogang University·Soongsil University festivals) and appear on stage but will not perform choreography."
SM added, "Although he can carry out daily activities, based on medical advice to refrain from intense dancing and rest, this decision was made after discussion with Shotaro. We ask for fans' understanding, and the company will do its best to support the artist's speedy recovery."
