As expected, the 'world-class' queen's moves.
The group Blackpink will become the subject of commemorative stamps as the first K-pop female artist on their 10th debut anniversary. Through the issuance of commemorative stamps, which had previously been allowed only for national figures, Blackpink once again proved their unmatched status.
On the 7th, the agency YG Entertainment said that stamps commemorating Blackpink's 10th anniversary will be abruptly issued on June 16 through a collaboration with the Ministry of Science and ICT and Korea Post.
Korea Post's commemorative stamps are generally produced to honor nationally monumental events or historical figures. Especially when a living person is used as a model, it is a very exceptional case except for presidents, and Blackpink has received this honor as the 'first' K-pop female artist.
This commemorative stamp set consists of 10 types, adding significance. To let people fully feel the musical footprint Blackpink has walked over the past 10 years, it includes images of all past album jackets. The commemorative stamp packet released together contains portraits of the members and glamorous stage images, which are expected to become a more special collectible for fans than anything else.
Official sales will begin at the national headquarters post offices and the Internet Post Office from June 16, and prior to that, online pre-sales will be held through the Internet Post Office from 7 p.m. on May 12 until midnight on the 15th. For the global fandom, purchase access was also opened on YG SELECT (English·Japanese·Chinese stores) and the post office's English site.
YG said, "Fans will be able to encounter the times Blackpink has walked and moments of their music in a new form," and added, "We hope this will be a precious gift that Blink (the fandom name) around the world will cherish for a long time through the medium of stamps."
