Nam Gyu-ri of Radio Star cried along with news of S.E.S.'s reunion.
On the 6th broadcast of MBC variety show Radio Star (hereinafter Ras), which was staged as the "Nice to meet you, An Gwang" special, Choi Daniel, Nam Gyu-ri, Ahn Ji-young and Beom-gyu (TOMORROW X TOGETHER) appeared.
S.E.S. reunited 15 years after disbanding in 2011. About this, Nam Gyu-ri said, "We formed S.E.S. Co., Ltd. We formed it with the members and each took on a role, and I am the representative."
She continued, "Boram is the executive director and Younji is the managing director. We also have equity and we are the owners, so we included about 10 full-length tracks that contain our story," and said they will be released on May 14.
Asked who led the push for the reunion, Nam Gyu-ri said, "I'm the older sister and the leader, so after doing Sugar Man 3 I planned to release an album, but it sadly fell through. Each of our companies is different and the conditions were different, so I thought we might never be able to do it."
She even said that many misunderstandings built up among the members during the reunion process. Nam Gyu-ri recalled, "The people who connected us say 'ah' or 'uh' differently. So the three of the members met and talked honestly. They said they thought there would be no chance for us to reunite unless it was the 20th anniversary."
She said, "I pushed, saying, 'Exclude the people who can't do the 20th anniversary and at least do it with the rest. I said I had to do it. I asked whether they would do it or not.'"
It turned out the members felt the same way. Nam Gyu-ri said, "Everyone wanted to do it. That misunderstanding was cleared in an instant and we've been meeting almost every day to record new songs."
Above all, Nam Gyu-ri said she sobbed while matching harmony with the members and said, "When I heard the members' singing voices, I thought, 'We went through hard times.' I wondered why we went in circles and only now have met again."
At that moment, when Kim Kook Jin empathized, saying, "Suddenly at some timing you suddenly felt it at the same time and your tears burst," Nam Gyu-ri said, "That's right," and held back tears before crying.
