Davichi's Kang Minkyung has been embroiled in allegations of manipulating a YouTube video.
Kang Minkyung became the subject of manipulation allegations over a video she posted on her YouTube channel 'GyangMingkyung' on the 26th of last month titled 'A lonely Shanghai trip after 36 years.'
The video shows Kang Minkyung on a 3-night, 4-day trip to Shanghai. It includes scenes of her packing between busy schedules, filming on location in Shanghai, and the solo trip that truly began after filming concluded.
But an unexpected manipulation allegation has held Kang Minkyung back. Although she called it a 'lonely trip,' some of the camera angles suggested someone else filmed her, raising questions. Viewers poured out comments such as 'You said it was a lonely trip' and 'Wasn't a staff member accompanying her?'
In response, Kang Minkyung posted her position in a pinned comment on the video on the 6th, saying, "I've struggled to film vlogs by myself for nearly nine years now."
Kang Minkyung explained, "I've been doing this consistently for nearly 10 years, so I thought people might recognize that by now.. haha apparently I still have a long way to go," adding, "This scene was filmed by briefly setting up a small tripod outside the restaurant in hopes that viewers would feel an emotion similar to mine."
She added, "Shanghai doesn't have the high pickpocketing risk of Europe, so that angle was possible. The reason I'm leaving such a long explanation is because some people asked whether I had staff accompany me despite calling it a lonely trip. If it hadn't been a solo trip, there would have been no reason to say that."
