Actress Kim Young-ok revealed a heartbreaking family history.
On the 6th, a video titled so cute한 조합이라 더 관심있습니다(제철 두릅비빔밥) was uploaded to Kim Young-ok's YouTube channel.
In the video, Mamamoo member Hwasa visited as a guest and the two enjoyed seasonal food mukbang together. During the conversation, Kim Young-ok asked, "Have you ever eaten the food your grandmother used to make?" and Hwasa replied, "bibimbap. I really ate a lot of things like that. Later, when I grew up, my grandmother's health was poor so my father mainly made it for me," she revealed.
Kim Young-ok asked, "How old was your grandmother when she passed away?" and Hwasa said, "Almost in her 90s. But my grandmother died during the coronavirus period, so she passed away without being able to see her. That's so regrettable," expressing her sadness.
Kim Young-ok said, "That will be a lifelong regret," expressing sympathy, and Hwasa replied, "So my grandmother was very sad," then asked, "Did your grandmother just let those pains pass?"
Then Kim Young-ok said, "I have a family history too. Our grandchild suffered after a traffic accident and his health worsened," and she spoke emotionally thinking of her grandson, who became paraplegic from the traffic accident.
She added, "It's something no one can avoid, and when something happens you just endure it bravely and live as if nothing happened," revealing her personal way of coping.
Meanwhile, Kim Young-ok said she appeared on Channel A's Oh Eun-young's Golden Counseling Room last year and has been caring for her grandson, who became paraplegic due to a drunk driving traffic accident, for eight years. It was reported that Kim Young-ok's grandson was injured in 2015 while waiting for a taxi on the street when an unlicensed drunk driver drove onto the sidewalk and struck him.
The grandson, who had been in a coma, regained consciousness after about a year, but Kim Young-ok's daughter suffered health deterioration from long caregiving and eventually Kim Young-ok herself took care of her grandchild. Kim Young-ok said, "I tell my daughter to endure for the sake of her son. I'm most worried about my daughter's illness and pray every day," and added, "I hope my grandson can just hold on without anything happening to him," expressing a desperate wish.
