Actor Jun Ji-hyun revealed the story of receiving high praise for her zombie acting from director Yeon Sang-ho.
On the 6th, a short teaser video titled (Friday preview) Found it! My zombie raw gem Jun Ji-hyun was released on the YouTube channel "Channel Sibo-ya".
This teaser featured director Yeon Sang-ho of the film "Gunch-e" to be released on the 8th, and appearances by Jun Ji-hyun, Kim Shin-rock, Ji Changwook, and others.
First, director Yeon Sang-ho said, "Actually when we did 'Train to Busan' it was almost our first zombie movie. So the stunt team felt a little embarrassed at first," as he commented on zombie acting, drawing attention.
Director Yeon Sang-ho continued, "Because the action team had focused on making cool action until now, when we suddenly asked them to do this they felt a little embarrassed at first," explaining, and added, "Now there is no shame about zombies at all and it's who can do it better. Even actor Jun Ji-hyun showed a challenging spirit..," drawing attention.
In response, Jun Ji-hyun explained the situation at the time, "But the director is so good at making zombie films that I tried a little beside him. The director wasn't looking at me and was watching the monitor, but he glanced at me with his peripheral vision and as if he had discovered a raw gem."
Director Yeon Sang-ho evaluated Jun Ji-hyun's zombie acting, "Her legs are very long. When those long legs bend I thought, 'Oh?! That kind of looks like a water strider?,'" which caused laughter.
Jun Ji-hyun added, "The director's eyes sparkled."
Jun Ji-hyun appears in Yeon Sang-ho's "Gunch-e." "Gunch-e" is Yeon Sang-ho's new zombie film following "Train to Busan" and "Peninsula," and is scheduled to open domestically on the 21st.
