Lee Sang-min revealed a firm production philosophy.
On the YouTube channel "232 Project," which was released on Feb. 6, Lee Sang-min visited 1MILLION Dance Studio to assess the trainees' dance skills.
That day, Lee Sang-min asked dance mentor Lia Kim to carefully check the trainees' potential for development. In particular, Lee Sang-min asked for a sober diagnosis of the current abilities of trainees without professional training experience and how much growth could be expected through a month of intensive lessons, drawing attention.
First, Lee Sang-min agreed with Lia Kim's high appraisal of Park Hye-na's natural energy and confidence. He added that when Yoon Su-min, who had relatively lacked confidence and energy, met Park Hye-na, he saw a complementary synergy. He also admired Lia Kim's advice for immediately understanding Park Hye-na and offered warm encouragement, urging Park Hye-na to practice her best.
Next, Lee Sang-min introduced Yoon Su-min as someone like a "blank canvas." He expressed expectations, stressing that when Yoon Su-min debuts she should take the unrivaled No. 1 spot in dance. But Lia Kim pointed out Yoon Su-min's awkward hand movements and lack of upper-body use, advising that solidifying the basics is the urgent task. In response, Lee Sang-min delivered a cold factual blow, saying, "Strangely, you're really bad today?" In particular, even after Yoon Su-min explained it was because of nervousness, he gave practical feedback, saying, "Based on what I've watched so far, these are flaws Su-min has regardless of nervousness."
Meanwhile, Lee Sang-min wore a satisfied smile at the sight of the two trainees standing side by side. He also firmly revealed his own production philosophy of valuing style and character over visuals. Lee Sang-min emphasized the importance of a worldview that can perfectly digest a song, saying, "The character to be shown in the music comes to mind first, and my method is to train to that character."
Finally, Lee Sang-min revealed plans for intensive training with 1MILLION. He made clear that the trainees' grit and will are necessary while showing an uncompromising professional attitude, saying, "If it doesn't work, it doesn't work." He also declared that he would decide future steps based on their changed 모습 after a month, raising expectations.
