The released video showed Eric Nam introducing HYBE's Latin American boy group Santos Bravos. The cheerful Santos Bravos appeared behind Eric Nam, who had his hands together as if in prayer, prompting laughter.
Amid this, Eric Nam's changed condition attracted attention. Compared with before, his face looked somewhat thinner and his jawline more slender, which surprised fans.
Previously, Eric Nam appeared on the YouTube channel "Jiykieout" and confessed to panic disorder and facial paralysis symptoms caused by obsessive compulsions and stress during his past activities in Korea. Not long after, news of Eric Nam's weight loss seemed to become a hot topic.
On "Jiykieout," Eric Nam confessed, "To be honest, there were many really hard parts while living in Korea. My mental health got really bad and just overall my health got really worse. On camera I looked positive, bright, kind and funny, but inside I was in so much pain. Even sitting here having a cup of coffee was a little scary."
He even revealed, "As my health declined I spent about three months eating only porridge, I had panic attacks and paralysis in my arms, fingers, discs and legs. Suddenly I lost feeling on the right side of my face," which shocked viewers.
However, in recent SNS posts Eric Nam appeared in a bright mood. In addition to the video with Santos Bravos, he also posted a message hinting at a new song release. He revealed parts of new songs that reflect his musical colors, such as Miss me more, Psycho and someday, on SNS to gauge fans' reactions. As he left Korea and is carving out his own path in the United States, support from fans at home and abroad is pouring in for Eric Nam once again.
Born in 1988, Eric Nam is a U.S.-born Korean who, after graduating from Boston College, joined the New York office of one of the Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Limited (DTTL). He debuted as a singer in Korea after appearing on the MBC entertainment program "The Great Birth Season 2" in 2011, rising to fifth place despite discouragement from those around him. Since then he was loved by Korean fans for his unique affability and restrained hosting to the point that the phrase "one household, one Eric Nam" circulated, but he recently left Korea and is active in the United States.
