'Wild Sing' Gang Dong-won revealed what he felt while playing an idol role.
On the morning of the 7th at Lotte Cinema Konkuk University in Seoul, a production briefing for the film 'Wild Sing' was held. Attending were lead actors Gang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, Park Ji-hyun, Oh Jung-se, and director Son Jae-gon.
'Wild Sing' (director Son Jae-gon, distributed by Lotte Entertainment, produced by About Film) is a comedy about the three-member mixed-gender dance group 'Triangle,' which once swept the music scene but was disbanded overnight after becoming embroiled in an unexpected incident, and now makes a reckless attempt to seize a comeback opportunity that comes 20 years later. It is a collaboration between About Film, the production company of the 2019 comedy that drew 16.26 million viewers, 'Extreme Job,' and director Son Jae-gon, who has built a distinctive comedic world with 'Be Not Hurt.'
Above all, this film promises a fantastic chemistry as Gang Dong-won, Um Tae-goo, and Park Ji-hyun come together as the mixed-gender dance group 'Triangle,' following Ssukssri and ALLDAY PROJECT. Gang Dong-won, a representative Chungmuro actor known for his good looks and prolific work, plays Triangle's leader and dance machine Hyun Woo, boasting an unmatched aura and perfect visuals, leading the team.
Earlier, in 2016's 'Memoir of a Prosecutor' Gang Dong-won, who drew attention for the Boombastic choreography, is drawing expectations as he transforms into an idol character for the first time in 10 years.
Gang Dong-won said, I felt this while preparing for this work. Watching idol performers, I kept thinking, 'it must always be so hard,' but while filming this, I came to respect them.
Asked why he chose the comedy genre, he said, Comedy has always been my favorite. The script was so funny. It was a really packed comedy, and what I liked most was the tightly closed ending. Not an open ending; I really liked the ending. The process toward the ending, including the four characters' stories, was so fun. That's why I wanted to try it, he said, showing his affection for the film.
Meanwhile, 'Wild Sing' opens on June 3.
