ILLIT is continuing its unstoppable rise as a major force, sweeping the top spots on major record charts in Korea and Japan with its new mini album.
According to the latest chart released by Japan's Oricon on the 6th (chart dated May 5), ILLIT's fourth mini album "MAMIHLAPINATAPAI" took No. 1 on the daily album ranking immediately upon its local release. The album also sold 276,145 copies on its first day of release in Korea, topping Hanteo Chart's daily album chart (dated April 30).
Riding on strong results on both sides, first-week sales (the number of albums sold during the first week after release) also set a new personal best. According to Hanteo Chart on the 7th, the new release sold a total of 411,654 copies during the tracking period (April 30–May 6), easily surpassing the first-week sales of the previous mini album 'bomb' and achieving another career high.
Global music fans' response to the title track "It's Me" has also been fierce. With its upbeat, addictive melody, it spread by word of mouth and landed at No. 6 on Spotify's global "Top Song Debut" chart (tracking May 1–3), and it also appeared on Apple Music's global "Today's Top 100" chart. On Melon's "Top 100" chart, Korea's largest music site, it debuted at No. 46 (May 4) and rose sharply to No. 36 (May 5) and No. 15 (May 7).
In particular, the song is being called a "dopamine song" among listeners and is exploding in popularity on short-form platforms. On TikTok, videos using the track surpassed 100,000 within six days of the audio being released, and it climbed as high as No. 2 on Instagram's reels rising audio chart (as of the 6th), leading a challenge craze.
In addition, the performance version music video for "It's Me," additionally released on HYBE Labels' YouTube channel on the 6th, has been lighting up interest. The full-version performance, set on the same dojang and exotic restaurant backgrounds featured in the main music video, captures the members' powerful impact and high-energy synchronized choreography, delivering a thrilling visual catharsis to viewers.
