HYBE-Genpŏn Record's global girl group KATSEYE is showing overwhelming popularity, placing both new songs and previous releases across Billboard's main charts in the U.S.
According to the latest Billboard charts released on May 5 (dated May 9), KATSEYE's "PINKY UP" placed at No. 71 on the Hot 100. The song, which earlier rose to No. 28 and set the group's highest debut on that chart, has now succeeded in entering the Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks.
On Billboard's Global 200, which ranks songs by combining worldwide online streaming and digital download data, it sat at No. 62. In particular, the Latin pop track "Gabriela," released in June last year, also ranked No. 125 on that chart, showing staying power as it continues a 45-week run of popularity.
Also, the group's second EP "BEAUTIFUL CHAOS," which had peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, rose to No. 113, marking 44 consecutive weeks on the chart. In addition, the debut EP "SIS (Soft Is Strong)," released in Aug. 2024, reentered the Billboard 200 this week at No. 168.
These achievements are attributed in large part to the group's activities at Record Store Day in April. At that time, KATSEYE released a limited edition that ranked No. 14 on sales charts, proving they have established themselves as artists recognized by both local record collectors and the general public. This unusual phenomenon is occurring not only with this limited edition but also boosting interest in back catalog releases.
Meanwhile, on the latest U.K. Official Singles Chart Top 100, "PINKY UP" was No. 42 and "Touch" was No. 82. On Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global, "PINKY UP" and "Gabriela" also rose to Nos. 61 and 111 respectively, confirming even support from music fans worldwide.
KATSEYE is a team that debuted in the U.S. in 2024 under HYBE chairman Bang Si-hyuk's "multi-home, multi-genre" strategy and based on the "K-pop methodology." In less than two years since debut, they were nominated for the 68th Grammy Awards and the 2026 American Music Awards, and they are set to release their third EP "WILD" in Aug.
