The group Billlie returns with their first full-length debut album that captures a firmer sense of self, exuding a heavy charisma.
Billlie will simultaneously release their first full-length album the collective soul and unconscious: chapter two today (the 6th) at 6 p.m. worldwide through various online music sites.
The main title track of this new record, ZAP, sings about the moment of realization when one blocks out countless external noises and focuses solely on "me." As the word for a flashing shock suggests, the members' daring vocals and distinctive raps harmonize over intense, rough beats, shaping an autonomous and solid self that does not waver in any trial into an appealing dark fantasy mood.
The "ZAP" music video, released simultaneously with the song, features members armed with striking visuals who, as protagonists writing their dreams proactively across a vast wasteland, complete an epic narrative and are expected to captivate attention with overwhelming mise-en-scène.
The previously pre-released sub-title track WORK, which swept the top ranks of popular music videos on YouTube domestically and abroad, is a hybrid track that member Moon Sua personally took part in writing, containing a strong message of "embracing even one's own flaws," and it has proven its hot buzz by surpassing 1.35 million views.
In addition, the new record includes seven diverse new songs such as no more, inspired by Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake; TBD, about uncertain relationships; B'yond me, conveying a message of self-affirmation; SOUPASTA, enjoying one's own freedom; and OFF-AIR, which tells of the self behind the glamour. Added to this are four distinctive remix versions and a Korean version of the Japan-release song DOMINO ~ butterfly effect, bringing the album to a total of 12 expansive tracks.
This first full-length album raised its completeness through active lyric contributions from members Siyun, Moon Sua, Haram and collaborations with world-class producers. Based on solid storytelling and perfectly combining music, performance and visuals, Billlie will prove an expanded "Billlivers" (Billlie + universe) through this album and once again imprint their singular presence on the global K-pop scene.
Meanwhile, having launched the signal flare of a spectacular comeback, Billlie plans to hold a special busking performance to connect with global fans and present stages of the new songs at 6:30 p.m. on the 7th, the day after the album release, at the Mangwon Hangang Park Green Path plaza in Mapo District, Seoul.
