ILLIT became the "super president" for the whole family to enjoy on Children's Day.
On the 6th, HYBE music group label Belift Lab Inc. said that about 24,000 citizens crowded into the "ILLIT Seoul Children's Grand Park Festival" held at Seoul Children's Grand Park on the 5th. The festival celebrated the release of ILLIT's mini album 4, "MAMIHLAPINATAPAI" (MAMIHLAPINATAPAI) and was themed around the title track "It's Me," giving citizens special memories.
The venue was crowded with countless people from early morning, proving ILLIT's intense popularity. Various experience booths set up in the "open stage and plaza" drew long lines of visiting families and friends, and seeing not only children but also parents humming ILLIT's songs together made clear once again their broad popular appeal.
In particular, the "It's Me" stage, where children were the stars, received great response. In part one, young fans belted out ILLIT's signature songs and showed off their talents, and in part two, ILLIT's performance director personally taught the new song's key choreography in a special session. Then ILLIT members made a surprise appearance and matched the children's eye level to present a dance challenge, sending the venue's excitement to a peak.
The festival's highlight was ILLIT's outdoor performance on the "stage in the forest." Both advance tickets and the number of on-site distributed tickets sold out, proving ILLIT's powerful ticket-selling ability. ILLIT overwhelmed the audience with a diverse setlist including the title track "It's Me," "Borrowed Cat (Do the Dance)," the mega hit "Magnetic," and "NOT CUTE ANYMORE." Especially during the official ending song "oops!" stage, thousands of slogans created a wave-like spectacle.
ILLIT said, "We didn't expect so many people to come; we were really surprised and grateful. Thanks to your bright energy, we gained greater strength," and added sincerely, "We hope today's time became a happy gift."
Meanwhile, ILLIT's new song "It's Me" has been on a frightening rise after music show appearances through word of mouth. After ranking 46 on Melon's "Top 100" chart (May 4), it climbed to 29 (May 5) in one day, showing the momentum of a "chart rebound." The music video, capturing the members' cute competition, has also settled in the upper ranks of YouTube's "Daily popular music videos" global chart, proving worldwide interest.
