Actor Park Jihoon returned with The Legend of Kitchen Soldier.
On the 6th, at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin District, Seoul, a production press conference was held for the TVING original The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (written by Choi Ryong, directed by Jo Nam-hyung).
The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (hereafter Kitchen Soldier) is based on a popular web novel and webtoon of the same name, and is a military mess cooking comedy drama in which a kitchen soldier who wears a chef's knife instead of a gun and an apron instead of an ammunition belt follows quest screens that will save his life and becomes a legend. It is expected to include outrageous dishes and elements that resonate with young people living in this era, drawing attention.
Park Jihoon, who attracted 16 million viewers with his first big-screen debut The King's Warden, has been confirmed to appear as Kang Seong-jae, a young man who works hard despite a difficult family environment. Kang Seong-jae becomes a kitchen soldier after gaining an unexpected ability following his military enlistment, and he challenges leveling up by following quest screens that appear along with a strange voice.
Coming back with a follow-up project after The King's Warden, Park Jihoon could not help but feel the pressure. Park Jihoon said he is not the type to feel pressured, saying, "I am not the type to feel pressure," and added, "Beyond the work's commercial performance, I thought about what I could express within the work and what kind of energy I could share. I was nervous, but I did not feel pressured."
Park Jihoon said, "My strength is that even within comedy I wanted to oscillate between Kang Seong-jae and Park Jihoon, not just be funny but be cute while being funny."
The TVING original The Legend of Kitchen Soldier will be released for the first time on the 11th at 8:50 p.m.
