Actor Park Jihoon revealed his dream of joining the Marine Corps reconnaissance unit.
On the 6th, a press conference for the TVING original 'The Legend of Kitchen Soldier' (written by Choi Ryong, directed by Jo Nam-hyung) was held at the Pullman Ambassador Seoul in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The Legend of Kitchen Soldier (hereafter Kitchen Soldier) is based on the popular web novel and webtoon of the same name. Instead of rifles they wield kitchen knives, and instead of ammunition belts they wear aprons — the kitchen soldiers follow quest screens that will save their lives and be reborn as legends in this military mess hall comedy drama. It is expected to include outrageous dishes and elements that resonate with the youth living in this era, drawing attention.
Park Jihoon said, "The director said it would be good to cast someone who hasn't done military service. He cast me thinking about the awkward, embarrassing moments and not knowing what to do. I'm a 'military geek' to some extent, but even during filming it felt very new. I learned what life would be like." He added, "Some members of Wanna One have completed their military service, but I don't talk about projects with them much, so I haven't heard anything separately. The actors I worked with gave me a lot of good advice, and actor Lee Hongnae gave me a lot of help."
In response, Lee Hongnae laughed, "I thought I shouldn't say anything, but I ended up talking a lot about 'latte' stories," and Lee Sang Yi said, "I served as a conscripted policeman," eliciting laughs.
Earlier, Park Jihoon said he wanted to join the Marine Corps reconnaissance unit. He said, "Since my 20s I've had a romance about the Marine Corps reconnaissance unit. I still really want to go; that hasn't changed."
The TVING original The Legend of Kitchen Soldier will be released for the first time on the 11th at 8:50 p.m.
