Writer Kim Ran-ju, who became famous through Infinite Challenge and others, became teary-eyed recalling her father's death.
On the 6th, a press conference was held for Coupang Play's new variety program 'Bonjour Bakery' at the Myeongdong Community House in Jung-gu, Seoul.
'Bonjour Bakery' is a healing baking variety show set in the country's first "senior dessert cafe" opened in a quiet rural village, where elders who know the taste of life and the bakery family who know the taste of happiness share sweet comfort and warmth. Through the unique concept of the "yes senior zone" cafe, which only allows entry to elders aged 65 and older and their companions, it plans to offer fresh fun and warm rapport never seen before.
Bonjour Bakery started with an episode about Kim Ran-ju's father. Kim said, "He traveled back and forth between Yeosu and Seoul during a long illness, and I saw him off at Yongsan Station; we waited for the train together at a cafe and he liked eating desserts. After that we had many desserts, and my father passed away two years ago. That became a memory, and I wanted there to be a comfortable space where people who couldn't spend time with their parents could be together," explaining the planning intent.
Kim Hee-ae said, "'Bonjour Bakery' is a dessert cafe where only elders aged 65 and older and their companions can enter. I think Korea's confectionery and baking skills are the best in the world, and it was regrettable that they were mainly open to younger generations. We want to give a small, modest, dessert-like moist happiness to those who have difficulty accessing it."
Coupang Play's new variety show 'Bonjour Bakery' will be released at 4 p.m. on the 8th.
