British pop star Sam Smith and fashion designer Christian Cowan are engaged.
On the 5th (local time), Page Six reported that Smith and Cowan, who attended the 2026 Met Gala together on the 4th, were seen discussing an engagement at the Mark Hotel.
According to an insider, "I understand it was a private engagement," and "the two are so happy and seem completely smitten with each other," they said.
Sam Smith has long publicly identified as a nonbinary person who is attracted to men. He began dating actor Brandon Flynn in 2017 and later split; in 2022, after watching President Joe Biden sign the Respect for Marriage Act (RMA) at the White House with Christian Cowan, dating rumors surfaced.

On the day, Cowan drew attention by appearing in a black couture outfit he designed himself inspired by Erté and wearing a diamond ring known to be from Cartier. Afterward, Sam Smith uploaded photos on their social media wearing the outfit worn at the Met Gala.
