Davichi's Kang Minkyung explained allegations that her YouTube vlog was staged.
Earlier, Kang Minkyung uploaded a video titled "Lonely trip to Shanghai after 36 years.." to her YouTube channel on Apr. 26.
The released video showed Kang Minkyung enjoying a solo trip in Shanghai, China.
However, after the video was released, some internet users raised questions, saying that although she claimed to have traveled alone, the shooting angles that appeared to have been filmed by someone outside suggested that a staff member might have accompanied her.
In response, Kang Minkyung ultimately left a comment on the video herself to explain.
She said, "I've been struggling to film vlogs on my own for what is now the ninth year," and added, "I've done this steadily for nearly 10 years, so I thought people would recognize that by now, but it seems I still have a long way to go."
She went on to explain the scene internet users questioned, saying, "This shot was taken by briefly setting up a mini tripod outside the restaurant with the hope that viewers would feel an emotion similar to mine," and added, "Shanghai allowed that angle because pickpocketing risk is not as high as in Europe."
She also said firmly, "If it were not a trip I took alone, there would have been no need to say that."
Meanwhile, Kang Minkyung has produced numerous hit songs while active with Davichi, and she communicates with fans through YouTube.
